EASTABOGA, Ala. — Two weeks after notching the United Sprint Car Series feature win at Carolina Speedway in his first outing of 2021, Justin Barger will be back in action this weekend – April 23-24 – with USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters at the Talladega Short Track in Alabama.
The event is a special one for USCS as it marks the 25th anniversary of their Outlaw Thunder Series’ first-ever sprint car race, which came at Talladega on April 25, 1997.
Barger is looking forward to the weekend at the one-third-mile clay oval and hopes to continue his strong start to the season after his win earlier this month.
“We’re excited to get back to Talladega to help celebrate USCS’s 25th anniversary where they held their first-ever event,” Barger said. “I really enjoy any short track sprint car race and this track fits that perfectly. Let’s try and continue the momentum from our last race at Carolina where we were able to score the win. I’m sure there will be some great competition and we’ll be ready do everything we can to get a couple more wins.”
The weekend will open Friday night with a $2,000-to-win 25-lapper and conclude Saturday night with the 30-lap Silver Shootout A-Main that will pay $2,500 to the victor. Sunday afternoon is a rain-date for Saturday night’s show.
We’ll post Saturday and Sunday to update our fans and partners on Justin’s weekend in Alabama.
